Did you know that a properly completed notarial certificate is a legal statement describing what occurred during a notarization?
When a Notary Public completes a certificate, it creates a permanent record that documents the essential facts of the transaction, including when the notarization took place, who appeared before the Notary, and how the signer’s identity was verified. In other words, the certificate tells the story of the notarization, when, who, and how.
Specifically, the notarial certificate records:
- The date the Notary Public met with the signer
- The identity of the individual who appeared
- The method used to verify the signer’s identity
Because the certificate serves as the official legal record of the notarization, accuracy and proper procedure are critical. At Buenaventura Signings, we treat the integrity of every notarial certificate with the highest level of care. We never backdate notarizations, select certificates on behalf of signers, or notarize incomplete documents. Each notarization is performed with strict attention to compliance, professionalism, and detail.
Accuracy is not optional, it is the foundation of every notarization we perform.
