Q1: Many people think a notary just watches signatures. How do you see your role?
I am far more than someone who watches you sign. I am commissioned by the State of California as a public officer. That means I take an oath, follow strict laws, and carry real responsibility. My seal is not decorative, it holds legal weight. Every notarization reflects my training, my discipline, and my commitment to doing things correctly.
Q2: What sets your work apart from a “quick stamp” service?
Preparation and professionalism. I am credentialed, screened, and continuously trained. I understand the boundaries of my role and the standards I must uphold. I pay close attention to identification, awareness, and willingness. I look for clarity and consistency. I do not cut corners, because the integrity of documents matters.
Q3: What are you actively protecting clients from?
Fraud, coercion, and costly mistakes. I confirm that each signer understands what they are signing and is doing so voluntarily. I stay alert to red flags. My job is to help prevent problems before they ever surface, especially in matters involving homes, trusts, powers of attorney, and other important records.
Q4: Where does your work typically take you?
Wherever I am needed most. I serve clients in offices, hospitals, homes, or detention centers throughout Ventura County. Sometimes it is a routine business document. Other times, it is a family planning their legacy or signing paperwork during a medical emergency. These are not just pages, they represent real lives and real futures.
Q5: If you had to describe your professional philosophy in one sentence, what would it be?
I stand firmly behind every seal I apply. I approach each appointment with ethics, precision, and respect for the responsibility entrusted to me. My goal is simple, to ensure all documents will stand strong if ever tested, because my clients’ signatures deserves nothing less.
