August is National Make-A-Will Month, a good reminder that estate planning is about more than encouraging people to create a will. For estate planning attorneys, it is also an opportunity to think about what happens after the documents are prepared.

Because the work does not really end when the client says, “Everything looks good.”

There is still the signing ceremony.

And for many clients, that can be the moment when an otherwise smooth estate planning experience becomes complicated. Multiple documents, numerous signatures and initials, notarizations, witnesses, certificates, funding instructions, and sometimes family members who need to coordinate schedules can make the final step feel overwhelming.

This is where having the right professionals in your referral network can make a difference.

A well-organized signing experience can help your clients feel confident that they are completing an important part of the process correctly. It also gives you and your team one less logistical detail to coordinate.
